Simplify Edits
Works with your existing agent.
Simplify Edits runs the agent that’s already on your Mac. Whatever you already pay for can drive it.
See the editor in motion.
Ask for a rough cut. Review the changes, bring a passage back, and undo anything. You and your agent work on the same edit.

Use the subscription
you already have.
Simplify Edits runs your own Claude Code or Codex, so it works with the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already pay for. No extra AI bill from Simplify Edits.
Usage counts against the plan your agent is signed in with. Transcription uses your own ElevenLabs key and is billed by ElevenLabs. Simplify Edits itself has no price yet.
Quicker feedback.
Full control.
In a chat window, every fix is another message and another render. In the editor you see the cuts, change one in a click, and keep going.
One prompt.
Every cut you need.
Each tab is one real request in Simplify Edits, and what came back from it.

Ask for cuts you’d rather not make by hand.
Filler, repeats, a tangent, a different format, a write-up. Each one is a sentence to your agent, and a decision for you.
Things your agent
can’t do alone.
Simplify Edits is the timeline and the review desk your agent doesn’t have: every change shown first, every edit reversible, and your own hands on the same transcript.
Review desk
Every proposal comes with its own Reject and Accept. Nothing changes until you approve.
Source restore
Removed words are crossed out, never thrown away. Bring any passage back with two clicks.
Undo and Redo
An applied plan is one step in history, so one Undo puts the whole thing back.
Manual control
Select words and remove them, trim at the playhead. You and your agent work on the same edit.
Claude Code on its own
A typical session
- You ask for a rough cut.
- It cuts the video with tools like ffmpeg and hands back a file.
- You watch the whole thing again to find what’s wrong.
- You describe each fix in a new message, one at a time.
- It re-renders. You check again, and repeat.
Claude Code with Simplify Edits
The same request
- You ask for a rough cut.
- It proposes every cut inside your transcript and timeline.
- You reject or accept each change, or approve them all.
- One Undo reverses it all; Source brings any cut passage back.
- You fix small things by hand, then export.
Your agent still does the work. Simplify Edits is where you stay in control.
Know where your
video goes.
A clear look at what stays on your Mac, and what gets processed along the way.
Your video and your project
Your original video stays right where it is, untouched. Your projects, transcripts and edits live on your Mac too.
The audio, for the transcript
Transcription is processed by ElevenLabs, using your own key. Only the audio track is used, not your video. Local transcription is coming soon.
The transcript, for the edit
Your agent processes the transcript and the timeline to plan the edit, under your own Claude or ChatGPT account. Video frames are only used if you turn that on.
What makes Simplify Edits different.
Not another chat that hands you a video. An editor you can see.
Simplify Edits is a truly agent-first video editor.
It’s for people who would rather not scrub through footage by hand. Perfect if you record long takes, publish often, or want the rough cut done before you open your usual editor.
Tools like Descript are great when you want to edit the text yourself. Simplify Edits is for people who want an agent to do the first pass, and still keep the last word.
What agent-first actually means →Fair questions.
Why can’t Claude Code just do this?
Does my video leave my Mac?
What do I need to run it?
Do I pay extra for the AI?
Is it free?
Hi, I’m Frank 👋
I make videos, and cutting them takes forever. The workflow around it is the part I don’t like, and honestly I don’t enjoy editing at all. It’s tiring. So handing off the heavy part, and automating as much of it as I can, matters to me.
I could already give a video to Claude and get a first rough cut back. Then I’d still have to read all of it and ask for each fix, one request at a time. I wanted an editor where the agent does that work and I keep control, changing anything back to my taste until the output is clean.
It’s the tool I wanted for my own videos, and I hope it gives you some of your time back too.
